Cutting an onion with a dull knife is to cry, the same goes for skates with blunt blades. Knives and especially the blades of your skates, you should therefore sharpen regularly, so you can glide over the ice with pleasure again! Being able to sharpen your stuff yourself creates a certain bond with your skates. You get a much better feeling with the ice and with your skates. The skate becomes an extension of you! Every stroke you make on the ice becomes a pleasure with skates sharpened by you.
To be able to sharpen properly, we will learn this from the professionals who do this daily: we are going to learn this from the professionals at Van Tol Sport! They will explain exactly how to do it. Ideal if you've never done it before, but also if you already think you can sharpen, Isn't it useful to get a repetition of everything from time to time. The ingrained mistakes are then polished out and you also learn how others do it.
The course is on Saturday 7 December at 11:00 at Van Tol Sport on Voorstraat 56 in Poeldijk. We will cycle there together and leave at 10:00 from the police station to the JvB. ELS provides skates that you can sharpen, but if you bring your own skates, then you can have the round checked again.
