ELS is nothing without its commissions! That is why the committee members are thanked again this year for a great year and everything we have achieved together. We're going on Sunday to celebrate 2 September track cycling! Between 15:00 and 17:00 we get a clinic on how we can best dominate such a job, because cycling on a bicycle without brakes and on a track that 47 degrees is steep, you don't just do that. The geometry of a track bike is also different from that of a road bike.
Practical info
- Rental bicycles: Unfortunately there are only 20 rental bicycles available. Assuming that no one has their own track bike, we can also go with a maximum 20 people participate. Renting a track bike costs €11. Riding a racing bike or a fixie on the velodrome is of course not allowed.
- Pedals: The bicycles are equipped with SPD-SL pedals that may not be changed. This means that you must bring cycling shoes with SPD-SL pedals. If you don't have one, you can borrow it at the velodrome. Cycling in regular shoes is not permitted due to the risk of slipping.
- Helm: If you do not have a helmet yourself, you can rent one at the velodrome for € 1,-. Helmets with a sun visor are not permitted.
- Cycling gloves are OBLIGED!
- Glasses: Only if you really need glasses, bv. i.v.m. lenses, are you allowed to wear clear glasses without large rims?. Colored spectacle lenses are not permitted.
- You cycle on the velodrome in sportswear, preferably a nice ELS suit of course!
