Grinding course with Jan van der Hoorn 23 november

By 7 November 2017No Comments

As the old Hawaiians used to say: Going on ice with blunt skates is like breaking open a coconut with your toe.

Because we prefer to keep our feet whole so that we can glide over the ice with pleasure, so it is important that we can sharpen our skates properly. Being able to sharpen your stuff yourself also creates a certain bond with your skates. You get a much better feeling with the ice and with your skates. The skate becomes an extension of you!
Every stroke you make on the ice becomes a pleasure with skates sharpened by you.

Because sharpening skates is a particularly important and fun part of this hobby/sport/lifestyle/”enter your own thing” that we share, are we going to do that at Jan van der Hoorn's skate bosses! These people know the profession like no other and are therefore pre-eminently the people who can teach it to us. You can bring your own skates and possibly your own sharpening equipment so that you can practice with your own gear. The advantage is also that your skates are sharpened immediately. So that's a winner. Just like you!
Even if you already think you can sharpen, Isn't it useful to get a repetition of everything from time to time. Ingrained mistakes can then be brushed out again and you also learn how others do it and the benefits of all methods. Because knowledge is power.

The grinding course is on Thursday 23 november and starts at 18:30 at Jan van der Hoorn on the Westkanaalweg 10e in Ter Aar.
